How it works
The Clearways™ device is a simple and effective anti-choking device for use during a choking emergency.
Simply grasp the device by the handle and place the facemask over the victimes face enclosing their mouth and nose.
With the facemask securely over the victims mouth and nose, firmly press the handle towards the victims face. This action causes the device to expand creating negative air pressure that is directed to the choking victims airways and dislodges the obstruction.
Due to its unique design, the device can be used repeatedly with one hand until the obstruction is dislodged.
Your free hand can be used to hold the victims head still and oppose the pressure created when using the device, which improves the airtight seal between their face and the facemask.

The device works by creating negative presure while grasping the handle and pushing towards the victims face. Due to the unique way the Clearways device functions, it is the only device that can truly be operated with just one hand.
Other products on the market generate negative air pressure when pulling away from the victim and therfore require two hands to operate; one to hold the facemask in place and the other to operate the device.
Our design has clear advantages when trying to rescue a choking victim:
- One hand is free to steady the victims head while the other is used to operate the device
- The victim does not need to be laying down or in any particular position, and can be standing or sitting as is likely to be the case
